Introduction

norc is the control plane for cron — scheduled tasks across your local machines and remote servers, with sync, run history, and drift detection instead of raw crontab files and SSH.

norc has four product surfaces, each documented in its own section:

  • CLI — norc-cli, the headless background service for servers. Pairs once via a device code, then runs unattended.
  • Desktop — norc-desktop, a status-first macOS agent: paired?, bridge connected?, crontab in sync?
  • Mobile — the norc mobile app (iOS/Android): sign in with your account, glance at machines and jobs from your phone.
  • MCP — norc-mcp, an MCP server so AI chat clients like Claude and ChatGPT can manage your jobs, machines, and run history.

All four talk to the same norc account and the same job data — pair a server with the CLI, then check on it from your phone or ask an AI chat client about it, no re-configuration needed.
